Whether you're redesigning a room, working with clients, or just trying out new ideas — Planora works for homeowners, designers, architects, families, and anyone who thinks better with their hands. It also makes a great gift.
It's a fair question, and here's how we see it. There's no learning curve, you open the box and start planning. No software to figure out, no tutorials to watch. If you're in the middle of a renovation or move and want to think things through before the professionals get involved, Planora gives you a way to do that on your own first. And if you are a professional, it's one of the better tools for working through ideas with clients around a table. For the scale of most home projects, it's a small investment, and reusable for the next.
Lay out your Gridboards and start placing pieces. A natural starting point is building the walls first, then adding windows, doors, and furniture.
Each product is built around a different use — the Room Planner for interiors, the Garden Planner for outdoor spaces, the Kitchen and Bathroom Planners for detailed close-up work, and the add-ons for extending any layout.
It means 1 cm on the board represents 50 cm (1:50) or 25 cm (1:25) in real life — two standard architectural scales. All components in the kits are proportioned to match, making it easy to plan and visualise spaces accurately.
Yes. Print or draw your floor plan to the same scale as your Planora product (1:50 or 1:25) and place the pieces directly on top.
Each Gridboard represents 133 m² (9.5 × 14 m) at 1:50 scale, or 31.5 m² (7 × 4.5 m) at 1:25 scale. Every planner set includes two Gridboards — connect them for a larger surface.

I love the kit. It’s just what I needed to be able to get started designing. I would have liked more of the shorter walls. Adding windows left me short on the shorter walls. I’m still playing with it, & having fun.
The room planner is excellent, and would be perfect with a few additions to the basic plan, namely, office and bedroom furniture. For example, there are 2 desks and several bookcases, but no file cabinets. There are no dressers or chest of drawers for the bedrooms. I found that building the walls and windows was quite time-consuming and ended up laying my own paper floor plan on top of the base, and easily arranging the magnetic furniture on top of the paper. The magnets worked through the paper!

There is nothing wrong with the kit but the way bundles are done is very confusing. I thought I was buying a bundle with 2 bases and extra shapes, what I got was 4 bases and no extra shapes. No clue what I would do with four base boards, I can get my whole house onto one! I seem to have spent a lot of extra money on something that is of no use to me.

Great product to work on room layout for new house were building
I actually give it 4.5 stars because the magnetic quality could be stronger. The pieces move pretty easily once placed. Also, I thought there would be more furniture pieces.
I did just order the extension kit (so darn it, that coupon would have come in handy!), but even that doesn’t have a huge variety. I figure you guys will keep adding more. Overall, I really dig it. I’m pretty analog, so I really like the idea of a design in real space. Easy to play around with arrangement and just an overall, great idea!
I received my room planner a few weeks ago and I have been using it every day! I’m doing renovation to my home and it has been so helpful to get a clear idea of how things fit together. It’s so much easier than drawing it out and having to erase everything to start over. I can get furniture measurements and see realistically how they will actually work in each room. I just love it!
